When should I visit with
my major advisor? [top]
You should visit with you major advisor as soon as possible. You community
recreation advisor will provide you a sequence of courses for proper planing.
You major advisor becomes your mentor and will prepare you to enter the
work place.
How can I get involved with
volunteer organizations? [top]
Your advisor can provide you a list of community recreation organizations
in the Mid-Michigan area. As a community recreation student, you will
need 180 hours of recreation experience; 90 hours must be in a community
recreation setting. This experience can be paid or voluntary.
How many credits will I earn
for my internship experience? [top]
You will earn up to 30 credit hours toward graduation for your internship
experience. Prior to this experience, you will enroll in RPL 310 (1) Pre-internship
in Leisure Services.
What is an appropriate minor? [top]
Any university approved minor is acceptable. Some options would be Gerontology,
Public Administration, Child Development, Public Affairs and Business
